Maths - Adding fractions

This is a screenshot of my results in Adding Fractions. I may have gotten some wrong, but that's fine. In room 11, we have been studying fractions. I now understand fractions, and how to add and subtract.

Basic Facts

Basic Facts W10 T2.PNG

This is a screenshot of my Basic Facts. It was all simple, but as you see the one I got wrong, I accidently misunderstood the number three, and thought that it was a number 2. I used a mental strategy to do the thousands. It was simple, not really challenging.

Prototec Basic Facts

aPrototec results Stage 7.PNG

This is a screenshot of my Basic Facts Stage 7. As you can see, I only got 2 wrong, because I got mixed up with the fractions and percentages. On the Squares, R and Factors, I added an extra number and forgot a number. Everything else was easy, and on division I used a mental strategy. It was quite challenging, because I  was doing stage 7, when i’m doing stage 6.

Leilani makes Jam Biscuits

Walt: write a procedure for making Jam Biscuits.

Success Criteria: use a verb to begin every  step in the method.

Today, Room 11 made Jam Biscuits. Everyone got their own biscuit and everyone had to roll the dough into little balls, then we had to push a little hole in the middle, and then we put jam in the holes.

The Ingredients we used were:

  • 125g butter (½ cup) .
  • ½ cup sugar .
  • 1 egg .
  • 2 cups of flour .
  • 1 tsp of baking powder .
  • 1 tbs milk .

Method:
  1. Preheat the oven to 180’c
  2. Add butter to a bowl
  3. Add ½ a cup of sugar to the butter.
  4. Mix the two substances together well until nice and smooth.
  5. Crack 1 egg into the mixture, and mix.
  6. Pour 2 cups of flour.
  7. Mix until flour is dissolved.
  8. Add 1 tsp of baking powder after flour is dissolved.
  9. Add 1 tbsp of milk in the mixture, and mix well.
  10. Put the mixture into cupcake holders, for the biscuits to form well, and poke little holes in the centre of the dough and for more flavour, you can add jam if you want.
  11. Grab the cupcake holders that are in cups and then put them in the oven for maybe 10-15mins
  12. Wait for the biscuits to cool off.
  13. Enjoy the Jam Biscuits

I will name my Biscuit Jammie.
